Dr. Elisa Pinat has received her Ph.D in Science from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 2017. Her scientific research has been carried out within the IceCube collaboration. The IceCube Neutrino Observatory, located at the South Pole, is a special telescope that records the interactions of nearly massless particles, called neutrinos, hoping, among its scientific goals, to provide answers to the 100-year-old question concerning the origin of cosmic rays. Her scientif research has been both dedicated to hardware and data analysis, investigating novel signalling techniques for the future detector upgrade and searching for extended sources of neutrinos in the sky performing a statistical analysis on a large data set of neutrino tracks. Her current researches at ROB focus on the exploitation of GNSS data for Polar research (e.g. snow accumulation monitoring, ice motions ...).
